Hey... I just saw your first post... just wanted to offer a little advice.
First of all, I know we’ve already “met” so to speak, but, welcome to Oppo! Second of all, you’re a minor, so I’d advise you to be a little more careful with the amount of personal information you release about yourself here on kinja.
Yes, for the most part, Oppo is a great place, and the mod team works really hard to take care of us and to keep this place awesome, but we’re still a whole bunch of strangers to you. Also, this place is comprised of more than 95 percent men, most of those are grown men, and not all of them are good guys.
We have very few women who are active here (though there used to be more, I can count currently-active women members on one hand, aside from myself), and as far as I know, you are the only minor female member. I could be wrong, but still. I can’t emphasize enough how important it is for you to safeguard your own identity on here. Again, you don’t know who any of us are, and you don’t know our intentions.
I know that may seem melodramatic, but hey, shit happens sometimes and it’s better to be safe than sorry. I hope you have nothing but positive experiences here on Oppo and on kinja in general. If, for whatever reason, you do feel you need some sort of help, don’t hesitate to reach out to the moderators. You can email them any time at oppomoderator (at) gmail (dot) com. Cosigning Xyl0’s reply. I know it’s unsolicited advice that you’ve probably heard a million times and you can feel free to ignore us old ladies, but... To add to her point: even if everyone on Oppo is awesome, the rest of the kinja/gawker land is not necessarily so.
ETA: you should reallyyyyy be more careful considering a reverse Google image search of prof pic is showing up on the first results page for “pretty girl with braces.” Someone’s totally stealing your identity.

I’m well aware of the internet lol. We know how these boys can get. The rules on the authorship page are clear and I know I’m in good hands. A friendly approach I still vital. I’ll keep my internet gun locked away. Rule one has and will always be DTA (don’t trust anybody), per my dad :) Again, all old news but good news for sure Xylo. *hugs* Texas sisters :)
